Which Type of Document Do You Need?
NEVADA MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE INFORMATION
A Certified Copy of Las Vegas Marriage Certificate is a copy of the original certificate that was issued by the Clerk, signed by the Officiant and recorded. This is what every couple needs to show proof of marriage. If you live in the United States or Canada, this should be the only document you need to change your name with your state DMV, Passport, Social Security, Bank Accounts, Credit Accounts, and to make changes to your Health and Auto Insurance. You will need this Certified Copy of Las Vegas Marriage Certificate document even if you are not changing your name.
APOSTILLE OR INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION
In order to have your Las Vegas Wedding or any Nevada Wedding recognized in most foreign countries in the world, you must obtain a special document called an Apostille. First of all, an Apostille is a shortcut document that certifies a legally signed document, making your marriage valid and recognized in any country that is part of the Hague Apostille Convention of 1961. If your country is not part of the convention, we can still get your document certified so you can complete your country’s verification process. If your country is part of the treaty, consequently the Nevada Apostille Service Las Vegas is all you should need.

CERTIFIED ABSTRACT OF MARRIAGE
An Abstract of Marriage Certificate is a document that some specific Government agencies may need for name changes, especially for Immigration or Adoption Agency purposes. In most cases, the Certified Marriage Certificate should be adequate, as it contains more information than an Abstract. But in some rare cases, an Abstract of Marriage may be required.

APPLY FOR NEVADA MARRIAGE LICENSE
In order to get married in Las Vegas, you must get a Marriage License. Just like a Driver’s License is for Driving, a Marriage License says you and your partner qualify to be married. Getting a marriage license in Las Vegas is easy and economical (that’s why it’s the Marriage Capital of the World). You will have to fill out an application either in-person or online.

CERTIFIED COPY OF MARRIAGE LICENSE
Some specific Government Agencies may request a certified copy of the license you obtained before you got married. This may be a Military Agency, INS, or Adoption Agency. In most cases, the Certified Marriage Certificate should be adequate. But in some rare cases, a Certified Copy of the Marriage License may be required.
